Hours

Open Monday - Friday, 9:30 am – 4:30 pm and every third Saturday from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm.  Visitors can drop in to the Boise WaterShed for self-guided exhibit hall tours. Wastewater treatment plant tours are offered on WaterShed Weekend program days.

Closed on the following Holidays: New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King Day, President’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.

Admission

Admission is FREE.  

Reservations

Groups of 10 or more people must make a reservation at least two weeks in advance. Reservations are available on first come - first served basis. Contact the Boise WaterShed for group reservations.

We are located at the West Boise Wastewater Treatment Plant at 11818 West Joplin Road, Boise, ID  83714.

ValleyRide Bus Lines

ValleyRide offers bus service near the Boise WaterShed Environmental Education Center. Visitors can take the #8 Chinden/Five Mile bus route and be dropped off at the bus stop near Hewlett Packard.  From Hewlett Packard, visitors can walk down Joplin hill to Boise WaterShed (estimated time: 20 minutes). 

Wheelchair Access

The Boise WaterShed is accessible to wheelchairs and strollers. The Wastewater Treatment Plant tour has limited wheelchair access and does not allow strollers.

Theater Availability

The Boise WaterShed Theater is available for group meetings Monday – Friday.  The Theater features state-of-the-art A/V equipment, including a projector, large screen, computer, DVD player, and surround sound speakers, with access to a podium, microphone, and marker board.  The Theater seats up to 40 adults.  Use of the Exhibit Hall is included with the Theater.  Call to inquire about our Theater policy and availability.
