Join us to learn about and see what birds we have back in the Gulch this Spring. The presenter is Leanne Lloyd-Fairey, long-time Audubon member. We will orient you to field guides, binoculars, birding tips, and then lead a walk where you test your skills.Hulls Gulch is a wonderful place to see birds of all kinds – from the tiny jewels to the biggest raptors. This event is part of the Sesqui-shop’s month-long series that features over 15 local community groups, organizations, and clubs.

Celebrate spring run-off with us! Explore the ecological importance of snowmelt by becoming a beaver and building a dam, experiment with a hands-on floodplain model to see the danger floods pose to river communities,and learn about the Boise River watershed. Take a hike to see the flood control system devised in Hulls Gulch! Danny Tappa, a BSU graduate student fellow in hydrology, is our host for the day.

On the second Tuesday of the month we invite you and your preschooler to join us for Story Trail Adventure. We will walk the quarter mile trail and read the book, then head into the Learning Center to do a story-relatedcraft. The program will happen rain or shine.
- For children between 3 1/2 and 6 years old and an adult companion.
- We can take 12 children with their companions.

At 10:30, join NOAA National Weather Service for an exciting opportunity to learn how the professionals forecast weather, see weather demonstrations, and play a jeopardy game! At 12:00, hike half a mile to the Boise River to release our rainbow trout!Inside the exhibit hall make an edible ice cream aquifer, make and take your own weather instrument, and create a mini tornado! Sponsored by Water Awareness Week, Region 3.

Artist Shelley McCarl, veteran instructor at Fort Boise Community Center, is taking her painting and pastel skills outside as she makes her debut here at the Foothills Learning Center. Join Shelley for a free, hands-on drawing and oil painting lesson;all skill levels are welcome, and no experience is required. All supplies will be provided.
