Professional development workshops for educators of all types are offered throughout the year at Boise WaterShed and Boise Urban Garden School (BUGS) with support from community partners.
Boise WaterShed is a regional host institution for Project WET workshops. Workshops consists of a 15-hour training session for educators (all levels), formal and non-formal, on diverse water topics so that educators can reach children with objective, experiential, science-based water education. Additionally, Boise WaterShed hosts the Treasure Valley Adventure Learning workshop during the second full week in July. Adventure Learning is funded by Idaho EPSCoR and developed in partnership with Boise State University, University of Idaho, and Idaho State University. BUGS offers "Just Add Water," a school garden workshop, twice a year for teachers, parents, and school administrators. The workshop provides training for schools looking to establish or maintain a school garden. Participants will receive an extensive "Just Add Water" garden lesson plan workbook and take-home supplies for their own school garden. Learn more
