Preschool Programs

Lessons

We welcome pre-school groups to the Jim Hall Foothills Learning Center and can provide a wide array of lessons. We use Project WILD's "Wild About Early Learners" curriculum, or we can customize a program to fit your needs. See our lessons page for topics for early elementary students.

To set up and schedule a pre-school lesson, contact us.

Preschool Nature Camps

We also offer periodic Preschool Nature Camps taught by Mrs. Claudia. These day camps are listed in the Boise Parks and Recreation Activity Guide and registration is handled by the Fort Boise Community Center, 208-608-7680 or online at bprwebtrac.cityofboise.org. In the summer, Miss Claudia also teaches week-long day camps, also listed in the Activity Guide and online.

Story Trail

Preschool groups are also invited to experience our self-guided Story Trail and read nature-related stories that change monthly. There are ten reading platforms and the trail is open sunrise to sunset, seven days a week. Click here for the schedule of books for 2014.

Story Trail Adventure Program

Year-round, on the second Tuesday of every month, we host a monthly Story Trail Adventure program themed with our Story Trail books. Kids walk the trail and then do activities and crafts that relate to the book of the month. These programs are limited to 12 children and their adult partners and require pre-registration. Click here for the schedule.

PLEASE NOTE: Beginning January 2014, Story Trail Adventure registration will be through Fort Boise Community Center; call 208-608-7680 or visit https://bprwebtrac.cityofboise.org
