Explore Our Grounds

Just like any other City of Boise park, Jim Hall Foothills Learning Center's grounds are open from sun up to sun down. We have picnics table to use and a wonderful yard for outdoor play.

Foothills Backyard

On the south side of our building we have created a landscaped native plant demonstration garden. Filled with drought-tolerant plants, native grasses and wildflowers, its a great substitute for a water-thirsty lawn. As you walk the paths, take a few minutes to read the interpretive signs throughout the garden. Discover why our semi-arid landscape has such a wide variety of native species. We hope our beautiful garden provides you with ideas for your own water-wise garden!

THE STORY TRAILStory Trail Kids.jpg

Wander the trail and read fun, nature related storied on ten kid-height reading platforms along our 1/4 mile trail. The trail begins along the split rail fence in the North East corner of our property. A new story is posted each month! Click here to view calendar.
