Summer camps and programs are offered at Boise WaterShed, Foothills Learning Center, Zoo Boise and BUGS. Boise WaterShed offers half-day camps for ages 5 – adult called eARThworks Art & Science Camps. Students will take creative inspiration from the science of our watershed to make artwork from a variety of mediums. Classes are taught by teams of professional artists and scientists. Tuesdays and Thursdays June 20 – July 23, 2019. See the calendar for specific class details and registration information.
In addition to eARThworks Camps, Boise WaterShed offers a summer teen program called WaterShed Action Team (WATer Teens). WATer Teens is looking for community members between the ages of 16 and 18 that have an interest in water resources, environmental education, and working with diverse groups of community members. Participants will receive a paid internship, job skills, teambuilding, speaking and presentation skills, and an introduction to Natural Resource professions. The WaterShed Action Team will run programs for Summer WaterShed Wednesday events. Applications are open in February and are due in March each year!
Boise Urban Garden School (BUGS) offers two kids of summer camps. The first is an exploration based garden camp that allows students to question the wonders of an urban garden through science, writing, nutrition and art.
The second camp is called What's Cooking University. This culinary camp allows participants to harvest and cook a large meal daily while developing lifelong kitchen skills.
Foothills Learning Center
Foothills Learning Center offers 5-day summer camps for ages 3.5 - 12. These camps offer young nature lovers a chance to explore and learn more about world around them
When school is out let the fun begin! Zoo Boise Camps bring wild animals to life for students by getting them involved! Try your hand at experiments, exploration, and art. Zoo Camps are offered during the summer, winter break, spring break and other breaks (including teacher in-service days) throughout the school year. Learn more and see what Zoo Camps are available.
In addition to Zoo Boise Camps for school aged kids in grades K - 6, Zoo Boise offers a ZooTeen Program. In ZooTeen, teens 13+ develop job skills during the summer while enjoying Zoo Boise at its best. Applications are available in January, and are due in March each year!
